Accreditation is a voluntary, independent review of educational programs, aiming to determine the consistent and high quality of education provided. It is also essential for determining eligibility for participation in government and state funding programs. In many cases, accreditation is mandatory for graduate programs. Modern Engineering & Management Studies (MEMS) is committed to providing quality technical education. The institution has prioritized the development of sustainable educational strategies, focusing on infrastructure, professionalization, internships, publications, learning resources, and personal development.
Emphasis has been placed on improving the quality of teaching and learning. This includes:
- Adherence to the academic calendar: MEMS strictly follows the academic calendar of Biju Patnaik University of Technology (BPUT) and conducts various developmental activities such as academic booster programs, campus placement drives, co-curricular and extra-curricular activities, and cultural activities.
- Use of various instructional methods and pedagogical initiatives: MEMS has adopted various instructional methods, including lecturing using chalk and talk, presentations in still and video formats, experimental laboratory work, group projects in interdisciplinary/multidisciplinary areas, hand-outs as supplements to lectures, eLearning, and topic-specific case studies.
- Methodologies to support weak students and encourage bright ones: MEMS emphasizes the importance of encouragement for students, and implements the Proctorial system, aiming to mentor each student on college-related or personal matters.
- Effective classroom teaching and conduct of experiments: MEMS provides smart classrooms with modern amenities, such as LCD projectors, laptops, smart boards, microphones with speakers, black/green boards, whiteboards, dedicated instruments, and software in the laboratories, to fulfill the technical curriculum.
- Student projects and industry interactions: The student projects are application-oriented and involve regular consultations and presentations before a panel of experts. MEMS also actively promotes industry involvement as part of its regular academic activities.
